Salsa Contest

What: The Melrose Park Public Library will be holding our first ever Salsa Contest at the End of the Summer Reading Party. Contest winners may win a $25 gift certificate to Carnitas Don Alfredo to be used at any of their three locations.

Citizenship & Beyond

Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White recently announced that the Melrose Park Public Library was awarded a Fiscal Year 2014 "Another Opportunity for Back 2 Books" grant for the MPPL project titled Citizenship and Beyond. Grant funds will be used to purchase adult and juvenile titles in English, Spanish, and Polish to help immigrants achieve US Citizenship and get started as new Americans. All these materials are available in the new Everyday Life Collection at the Melrose Park Public Library.

Download Music and Stream Movies with Freegal

What is Freegal?

Freegal is a free and legal way to download music and stream movies courtesy of your library.

Freegal offers access to about 7 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists. In total the collection is comprised of music from over 28,000 labels with music that originates in over 80 countries. There is no software to download, and there are no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions. 

 

Computer Resource Center is open

The Resource Center has moved from Winston Plaza to the Melrose Park Public Library. The Center offers PC’s equipped with Microsoft Office Suite software including Word and Excel. Computer usage is free for all Melrose Park residents on a first come first serve basis. There is a nominal charge for any printing or faxing. The Resource Center is handicapped accessible.
