Clases de Computacion Uno-a-Uno
The library offers free introductory classes to patrons on an individual basis. To sign up for a One-on-One Computer session, call the Reference Desk at 708.343.3391 x7485 or visit us in-person. Sessions are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Please schedule your appointment at least one week in advance. Alternate times may be possible depending on staff availability. There are three lessons available: Introduction to Email, Basic Internet Searching, and introduction to Microsoft Word 2007.
Introduccion a Correo Electronico
Requisitos: Familiarity with using a mouse and keyboard
During this introductory course we will go through the steps of setting up one Yahoo or Gmail email account. Learn how to sign in and out, send and receive emails, set up address books, join a mailing list, create a draft email, delete emails, setup folders (or labels) and set up email filters. We will also discuss how to recognize Spam and Phishing scams.
Basic Internet Searching
Requisitos: Familiarity with using a mouse and keyboard
Learn to find information using popular search engines including Google, Ask, Bing, and Yahoo. We will also use the library Catalog (SWAN) to do keyword, title, author and advanced searches to search for library materials.
Introduccion a Microsoft Work
Requisitos: Familiarity with using a mouse and keyboard
The purpose of this 45 minute course is to familiarize you with the basic functionality of Microsoft Word 2007.
