The Driehaus Foundation to Match Donations for Airmail
The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation has announced an outright grant of $5,000 to the Melrose Park Library to assist in the restoration of the New Deal Era mural Airmail. In addition to this gift, the Foundation will match donations dollar-for-dollar when we reach $10,000.

American Dream Starts @ your library

Melrose Park Public Library is one of 34 libraries that has received the "American Dream Starts @your library" grant to help increase literacy services to adult English language learners. The popular language software, Rosetta Stone, is now available for use on our adult computers. If you would like to learn English or Spanish, please visit the reference desk and ask to sign-up for Rosetta Stone. Look for more resources including books and DVDs coming soon as a part of the American Dream Starts @your library.

Patrons of the Melrose Park Library now have access to two new resources Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest

Visit the library to have access to Ancestry.com which allows you to search historical records, stories,photos,maps, and many other publications and databases.

Log in to Heritage Quest using your library card, from anywhere to gain access to Census Records (dating back to 1790), Revolutionary War records, Freedman's Bank and many other resources.

Help us celebrate Melrose Park's 125th Anniversary and visit our new site,Melrose Park Memories, where you can find eight photo galleries depicting Melrose Park's past. You can check out the devastation of the 1920 Palm Sunday tornado, view a book published in 1907 commemorating the towns 25th anniversary and see how the Winston Park subdivision was developed.
